Pumpkin-ginger cream, red onions, purple carrots and dulse seaweed
Portions: 1 slice
In our amazing and passionate crew we have 3 university students. Two of them are studying Global Nutrition and Health at Metropol University in Copenhagen, and Bruno Cirillo, pizza chef, world-traveller and nutrition nerd 😉 started for us this interesting project.
The idea of posting the nutritional values of the pizzas we make, has been taken after a prolonged and joyful conversation. This, because we strongly believe that our clients are at the core of what we do.
In fact, the main objective here is to promote healthy and sustainable food habits through the most loved dish in the world: Pizza 🙂
Letting them know what they eat and giving them a general overview of both macro and micronutrient content is another step of a more conscious consumer. Here below the nutritional value of 1 slice of pizza with pumpkin-ginger cream and seaweed.
According to the report and the Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs) listed on the right column, this can be referred as a complete and healthy meal, both as macro and micronutrients content. It’s visible in fact that the Protein (17g), Carbohydrate (73g) and Fat (15g) content stay in the recommended range of respectively 10-35%, 45-65% and 20-35%.
Furthermore is interesting to notice that most of the minerals and vitamins already reach half of the DRIs, this because ingredients such as dulse seaweed and ginger raise significantly the levels of potassium, phosphorus and Vitamin B6.
